WHAT IS A JOLLY JAR?

Picture
Jolly Jars are creatively decorated jars filled with a variety of fun items for children that are sold at our Lord Nelson Spring Carnival for $3 each. It's a great way be creative with your kids, and have fun donating to your school PAC, and one of the most popular booths at the Carnival!

How To Make a Jolly Jar

Step One

Decorate a clean MEDIUM sized jar from your recycling bin (pasta sauce jars, pickle jars, Jam jars) or canning/mason jar, using glass paints, stickers, gems, glitter, fabric, yarn, beads, tissue paper or decorative tape. The sky's the limit! You can't be too creative!

Step Two

Fill your jar with NEW or UNUSED objects of your choice. Be sure that your jar is filled with items worthy of the $3 price tag. For help with ideas, check out our "IDEAS" page or "Links" page.
Hint: the dollar store is a great place to find many fun items, or try the Japanese dollar stores such as Yoko Yaya 123 or Daiso for extra cute items such as stationary, stickers, erasers and miniature stuffies and toys. Got some leftover loot bag favours? Some excellent condition stuffies, or hordes of LEGO mini figures in great shape? That would work too!

Step Three

Bring your decorated Jolly Jars filled with $3 of fun to the collection table in the office anytime between now and May 30th (the day before the Carnival). Students' jars will be on display starting two weeks before the Carnival. Come by and see!
